How Information Is Used

On-Device Forecast Summaries

On supported devices, YAWA Canada can show a short, plain-language summary of a day's forecast. These summaries are generated entirely on your device using Apple's built-in on-device intelligence. The forecast details are not sent to the developer, to Apple, or to any third party for this purpose, and no summary content is stored or transmitted off your device. On devices without this capability, the app builds the same summary locally from the forecast data already on the device.

Location Data

If you allow location access, YAWA Canada uses your device location to provide local weather information. Your location is used solely to make weather data requests and is never stored, logged, or transmitted to the developer. Location access is optional and can be changed at any time in your device settings.

Notifications

The app may request permission to send local notifications for weather alerts and an optional daily briefing. Notifications are generated entirely on your device — no data is transmitted to the developer or any third party in order to deliver them.

Data Storage

Saved locations and app preferences are stored locally on your device. This information is used only for app functionality and is never transmitted to the developer.

Third-Party Services

YAWA Canada retrieves weather and radar data directly from third-party providers:

• Open-Meteo — weather forecasts and air quality data
• Environment and Climate Change Canada — official Canadian weather alerts (weather.gc.ca)
• RainViewer — radar imagery and playback

Requests to those services include only the location-related query data needed to return weather results. YAWA Canada does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices of these services, and no data about you is sent to them beyond what is minimally necessary to fulfill your request.

Analytics and Tracking

YAWA Canada uses no accounts, no analytics, no tracking technologies, and no advertising SDKs of any kind. It does not track users across apps or websites.

Children's Privacy

YAWA Canada is not directed to children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
